Palestinian artist Majdi Abu Taqqeyeh started using shrapnel, empty tear gas canisters and even bullets extracted from the bodies of his injured compatriots to create detailed figurines and miniature art installations in central Gaza, footage from Tuesday shows. On any given day, Majdi Abu Taqqeyeh can be found scouring the border between Gaza and Israel, as well as local hospitals, collecting... Еще remnants from clashes and demonstrations. This idea of commemoration came to Abu Taqqeyeh after his own brother was injured. The 19-year-old was 700 metres away from the border fence on the first day of the Great March of Return and was shot with live ammunition in both legs by the Israeli Defence Force. Abu Taqqeyeh took a bullet extracted from his brother's leg by a doctor and sculpted it into a miniature Canaanite soldier, thus beginning his artwork.
