A bomb exploded in Rehmania mosque in Quetta's Pashtoonabad neighbourhood during Friday prayers, reportedly killing at least three people. Footage shows the aftermath of the blast. Twenty people who were injured in the attack were taken to the nearby Civil Hospital Quetta, according to reports. Two of them were in a critical condition.
«According to our investigation, which is at its initial... Еще stage, a device was fixed under the Imam's sermon chair and the weight of the device we were told is approximately 2.5 kg,» said Abdul Razzaque Cheema, Quetta Deputy Inspector General, after inspecting the site of the explosion.
The official said police were not able to protect each of the 618 mosques in Quetta so the government appealed to the residents to provide volunteers. «Regarding this mosque, it is among those 40 mosques which were identified by us [as a potential site of attack], but local people neglected our advice to provide volunteers,» said Quetta Deputy Inspector General.
