Thousands of protesters took to the streets of Karachi, Sunday, in a mass protest organised by the Jamaat-e-Islami part (JI) in support of Rohingya Muslims currently fleeing Myanmar. The protesters exhibited numerous placards denouncing the persecution of Rohingya Muslims, and called for the revocation of State Councellor of Myanmar Aung San Suu Kyi's Nobel Prize. JI Party Chief Amir Siraj-ul... Еще-Haq addressed the rally from a remote location. Protests have taken place across the globe over Myanmar's recent military action against Rohingyas in the state of Rakhine after a reported attack by militants left 12 police officers dead. The UN has estimated 123,600 Rohingya have crossed into Bangladesh over the past few weeks, amid widespread reports of indiscriminate killings, arson, looting and rape by the Myanmar military.
