Muslim Shia women held a candlelight vigil in Islamabad on Wednesday, to honour the memory of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani, who was killed in a US airstrike in Baghdad.
The mourners were seen holding images of Soleimani and lighting candles to pay tribute to the late General.
A participant Zara Haider commented on Soleimani's assassination, stating that «hundreds of thousands of followers and... Еще people who loved him took to the streets. So it means that not one Qasem Soleimani was killed, but in response to this, hundreds of thousands of Qasem Soleimanis were born.»
Soleimani and deputy leader of Iraq's Popular Mobilisation Forces (PMF) Mohammed Ali Ebrahimi, also known as Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, were killed by a US drone strike near Baghdad's airport on January 3, triggering an escalation of tensions in the region.
