Pakistan: Protesters burn Modi effigy at rally over alleged death of fisherman in Indian custody

Demonstrators rallied against Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Karachi on Thursday following the alleged death in Indian custody of a Pakistani fisherman. The protesters held banners and chanted slogans against Modi, also burning a photo and effigies of the Indian prime minister. The demonstration, called for by a fishermen’s organisation, was also held to denounce India’s governance of Kashmir after the Indian-administered region was stripped of its special status last year.
