The Pakistani government announced plans to expel India's high commissioner and suspend trade with its neighbour as tensions escalate over the disputed territory of Kashmir. Pakistani Foreign Minister Mehmood Qureshi informed the National Assembly of the measures during a special session in Islamabad on Tuesday.

Indian-administered Kashmir has been on lockdown since the Indian government decided on Monday to strip the region of its autonomous status.
India and Pakistan have fought two wars over the disputed territory, which remains the scene of frequent tensions.
