Russian climber Victor Koval called the Pakistani Army «brave and strong» after his friend Alexander Gukov was rescued by Pakistani Air Force members from the Latok I peak in the Karakoram Mountain Range on Tuesday. Koval and two other climbers were in the base camp alongside with Gukov. But he didn't join Gukov to 'storm' the mountain. He then later joined the rescue operation. Gukov was... Еще accompanied by his partner Sergei Glazunov, with whom he reached roughly 600 feet (182 metres) from the summit, before starting to descend. In yet unclear circumstances, Glazunov fell into his death, while Gukov managed to survive and send a SOS signal. Gukov was rushed to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Skardu, and eventually transferred to CMH Rawalpindi and is in a critical condition.
