Norway: EMERCOM examines location of downed Mi-8 helicopter

The search for a missing Russian Mi-8 helicopter near the Norwegian island of Spitsbergen continued on Sunday, as rescue workers from Russia’s Ministry for Civil Defence, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters (EMERCOM) used a remotely operated underwater vehicle to study the scene of the crash. The rescuers are using a small unmanned Seaeye Falcon underwater vehicle... Еще in order to explore the crash site on the bottom of the sea, and have developed a way to lift the debris to the surface. More than 40 rescuers, including 17 divers, are working at the location. The Mi-8 helicopter was carrying five crewmembers and three scientists when it crashed at sea on October 26, killing all eight people on board.
