Drone footage filmed in the Tashkent region in Northern Cyprus on Monday shows fires caused by an explosion after the territory was hit overnight by what appeared to be a Russian-made S-200 missile.
Turkish Cypriot Foreign Minister Kudret Ozersay told local media that «the missile was a stray Russian-made S-200 that was fired in response to Israeli missile attacks.» Ozercay said it may have been... Еще launched by a Syrian anti-aircraft system. Turkish Cypriot officials suggested the missile missed its target and fell in Northern Cyprus, nearly 193 kilometres (119 miles) west of Syrian territory.
Syrian state news agency SANA reported that four civilians were killed and 21 injured in Israeli air strikes near Damascus early on Monday.
Israel Defence Forces (IDF) has not issued a statement regarding the reported attacks in Syria.
