North/South Korea: S.Korean Pres. arrives for historic meeting with N.Korean leader

South Korean President Moon Jae-in arrived at the border 'peace village' of Panmunjom in the Korean Demilitarised Zone (DMZ) on Friday, to meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un for a historic summit between the two nations. The two leaders are expected to discuss denuclearisation, the improvement on inter-Korea relations and the possibility of easing the sanctions on North Korea in the light... Еще of a possible peace treaty between the two nations. Relations have been fraught between Pyongyang and Seoul since the 1950-1953 Korean conflict, which ended with an armistice but without a peace treaty ever being signed. The PyeongChang Winter Olympics seemingly encouraged warming relations on the peninsula, after a year of heightened tensions over the North's nuclear and missile programs. Kim Jon-un is the first North Korean leader since the division of the two nations in 1945 to ever cross over to the South. Mandatory Credit: Inter-Korean Summit Press Corps
