Nigeria: Police station set ablaze as protests lead to Lagos curfew

A group of people set fire to a police station in Lagos on Tuesday allegedly after an officer was said to have shot and killed a resident of the area. Footage shows Orile Iganmu police station on fire. The group, believed to be violent protesters taking part in the peaceful #EndSARS protests are believed to have started the mayhem causing the protesters to flee in fear for their safety. The government of Lagos has now imposed curfew in the Nigerian capital. Anti-riot police have been deployed nation-wide. The #EndSARS protests are a social and political movement of mass demonstrations across Nigeria against police brutality, killings, extortion and harassment which began in 2017.
