Netherlands: Police comment on handling false hijacking alarm at Amsterdam Airport

Dutch military police alongside other emergency service units were seen patrolling Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, following the false hijacking alarm triggered earlier in the day by a pilot, on Wednesday. Security officials can be spotted walking through the airport halls and the railway station, as the transport hub's services were getting back to normal. The Royal Marechaussee (Military police... Еще) spokesperson, Marvin van Engh, described the incident to press stating that around a quarter before seven in the evening they got a call from plane's cabin indicating ongoing hostage situation. «The situation ended when all the people crew and the persons inside the plane were evacuated and were safe, so that's when the situation was over for us,» he added, saying that he couldn't elaborate on the exact measures taken to tackle the situation.
