Netherlands: 'Nijmegen against racism' demo held against neo-Nazi RVF

Anti-racism activists held a demonstration after the neo-Nazi Racial Volunteer Force (RVF) announced that they would hold a rally in front of the leftist social centre De Grote Broek, in the Dutch city of Nijmegen on Saturday. It is unclear whether the neo-Nazi group turned up in the end. One protester said, «we have organised this manifestation because a group of neo-Nazis, the self-proclaimed... Еще nationalists, announced today, exactly 80 years after the Kristallnacht [also referred to as the Night of Broken Glass], that they were going to rally in the city. And they specifically announced that they would rally at this location. This is De Grote Broek.» He went on to say that the RVF see De Grote Broek as «an anti-fascist stronghold,» noting that the fact that the RVF would hold a rally in front it, «we see that as a threat.» Another protester said that De Grote Broek is «a legalised squat and an important leftist stronghold. The Racial Volunteer Force believe that De Grote Broek shouldn't be allowed to exist.»
