Tecolutla began evacuating residents as Hurricane Katia made landfall on the state of Veracruz’ coastline, Friday, on the same day as a deadly earthquake struck off southern Mexico's Pacific coast.
The storm had brought winds of over 120 km (74 miles) per hour off the coast, and Mexico is bracing itself for the eventuality of heavy flooding. However, Katia has since been downgraded from a... Еще hurricane to a tropical storm after winds slackened significantly after landfall was made.
Hurricane Katia arrives as Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Jose continue to cause damage elsewhere in the region.
