Relatives of missing persons, known as the 'disappeared', demanded information on the whereabouts of their loved ones, during a protest in Mexico City on Thursday. The event was timed to coincide with Mother's Day. Protesters complained about inaction from municipal, state and federal authorities, who seem unable to help relatives find missing relatives. Agustina Fuentes, mother of Margarita... Еще Fuentes, who left one night never to return, said, «it coming up to 6 years since her disappearance and we have nothing concrete about what really happened to her.» Another mother, Laura Curiel, shared her frustration with the authorities. «I have visited Forensic Medical Services, prosecutors, and prisons in the search for my daughter in the state of Mexico and Mexico City. There is no response from the authorities.» According to official government figures, over 30,000 people are missing in Mexico, mostly victims of organised crime and drug trafficking.
