The Palace of Fine Arts reopened in Mexico City, on Wednesday, having been closed for five months due to COVID-19 pandemic.
The museum has implemented strict security measures, visitors' temperature will be taken and they will be provided with hand sanitiser upon entrance. They will also be asked to disinfect their footwear on special mats.
Coordinator from the National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature Mariana Murgia Matute said, «We have been very careful in order to follow all the instructions of the Secretary of Health, both federal institutions and Mexico City.»
«We are sure that museums are safe places. It is very important to reconnect and be able to offer the population, especially after having suffered this pandemic,» she added.
For the moment, the areas of the permanent exhibition dedicated to the Mexican muralist and the architecture museum located on the third floor of the building have been opened.
