Mexico: Mixquic community observes Day of the Dead traditions

Residents of Mexico's San Andres Mixquic adorned their loved ones' graves with candles and flowers, as they celebrated the Day of the Dead in a more traditional manner on Saturday. Locals came together for various rituals and commemorations, as floral decorations and Day of the Dead themed street art were also seen. On November 2, relatives descend upon the Church of San Andres Apostol at dusk... Еще when their pray, burn candles around their deceased loved ones. According to the tradition, families offer food, drinks, and prayers to their spirits who come back to celebrate life with the living world. Day of the Dead, or Dia de los Muertos, dates back to old Aztec traditions and takes place in major Mexican cities and small towns between November 1 and 2.
