Mexico: Mexico, Canada to hit back with tit-for-tat tariffs on US — FM

The Secretary of Foreign Affairs for Mexico, Luis Videgaray Caso, said that the Mexican government will respond, alongside Canada, with 'equivalent' countermeasures to the US imposed tariffs on steel and aluminium, speaking from Mexico City on Thursday. «The government of Mexico responds with measures equivalent on various products such as flat steels, lamps, pork legs and shoulders, sausages... Еще and food preparations, apples, grapes, blueberries, various cheeses, among others, up to an amount comparable to the level of influence,» Videgaray said. He added that the Mexican President Nieto talked on the phone with the Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and they both agreed 'to coordinate and to continue defending an open, free and rule-based commercial order, including a successful modernisation of the treaty of free commerce.'
