An enormous photo of a toddler glancing over the US-Mexican wall was installed on the Tecate state border on Thursday, designed by a French artist under the alias 'JR', footage released on Saturday shows.
The image stands at nearly 65ft (19.8 metres) tall and is positioned on the Mexican side of the border, looking into the US with his fingers seeming to grip onto the top of the steel barrier... Еще.
Scores of people made a pit stop to the site in order to take photos of the gigantic piece of art. One passerby, Marco Vinicio Monter, said that for him the piece held political significance, as it was symbolic for how «decisions made in Washington have an effect on children, whether on this side of the border or the other side.»
The installation appeared just a few days after US President Donald Trump announced his decision to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals programme, which had previously been enacted to protect hundreds of thousands of undocumented people who had arrived in the US as children.
