Mexico: GIANT footballs on display ahead of Russian WC 2018 debut

Giant footballs representing the 32 teams playing at the FIFA World Cup 2018, lined the Paseo de la Reforma, Mexico City's principal avenue, on Thursday, before they travel to Russia for this summer's tournament. On 13 June, the balls will make the 10,731km (6,667m) trip to Moscow's Red Square. An international collective of artists called 'Locos por el Arte' — translated as Crazy for Art... Еще — created the Ball Parade Russia 2018 as part of Mexico's bid to be World Cup 2026 hosts alongside Canada and the United States. The 2018 FIFA World Cup is scheduled to take place in Russia from June 14 to July 15, 2018. A total of 64 matches will be played in 12 venues located in 11 cities across Russia, with the final set to take place in Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow.
