Mexico: Final 150 asylum-seekers arrive at US border in Tijuana

Over 150 mainly Central American asylum-seekers arrived at the US-Mexico border in Tijuana, as shown in footage filmed on Thursday and Friday. They joined around 200 others at their final stop before entering the United States, weeks after US President Donald Trump said the National Guard was ‘toughening up at the border.’ Pueblos Sin Fronteras (People without Borders) and other organisations... Еще provided newcomers with tents and shelter. “There are seven of us; my wife, my children, my sister-in-law. All of us are from El Salvador. It’s tremendously bad there, that’s why we decided to leave,” said Marvin, an asylum-seeker. “One year ago, my brother was shot eight times. Thank God he survived and then he left Honduras and came to the United States, but the authorities caught him and he spent around eight months in prison,” added another one. Trump took to Twitter to say: «I have instructed the Secretary of Homeland Security not to let these large Caravans of people into our Country. It is a disgrace. We are the only Country in the World so naive! WALL.» [sic]
