Emergency services were on site to search for earthquake survivors on Friday, in Juchitan, one of the towns hardest hit by the 8.1 magnitude quake that struck Mexico’s southern Pacific coast. Survivors were seen sleeping outside on the streets and in parks, after the earthquake destroyed a third of the town’s housing stock, leaving piles of debris strewn across the roads. The municipal palace... Еще collapsed entirely, killing a police officer inside. At least 61 people have died as a result of the earthquake, with 31 said to be killed in Juchitan alone. The earthquake, the strongest to hit Mexico since 1985, was felt as far away as Mexico City and has prompted Tsunami warnings in eight Central American countries.
