Mexico: Earthquake rips apart homes in Veracruz

Homes were split in two and large expanses of ground opened up in Mexico's south-eastern province of Veracruz, after an earthquake estimated between 8.0-8.4 hit Mexico’s southern Pacific coast, 123km southwest of Pijijiapan, on Friday. The earthquake has prompted Tsunami warnings across 8 Central American countries, with the Pacific tsunami warning centre estimating tsunami waves of over 3metres... Еще for parts of the Mexican coast. The tsunami is expected to be felt as far afield a Fiji, Kiribati and French Polynesia. An earthquake of such a magnitude has not been felt in Mexico since 1985, when a magnitude 8 earthquake hit Mexico City killing thousands and causing billions of dollars of damage.
