Mexico: Barbers and beggars — migrants try to secure money to resume journey to US border

Thousands of Central American migrants have made a stop in Mexico City on Wednesday, before heading north towards the US border. While a variety of humanitarian organisations as well as government bodies have have reportedly offered aid, many migrants hit the streets of the capital to beg for money in an attempt to buy basic goods or bus tickets to continue their journey. Others have set up... Еще their own businesses, with a group of young people investing in shaving machines to provide haircut services for 30 Pesos (EUR 1,31). «We are a bit locked up, so we take the opportunity to work, it is fun too,» said Ayyi Collins, a migrant from Honduras. The migrants, mostly fleeing violence and poverty, have been travelling for almost a month after the group first formed in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. The caravan must still travel around 965 kilometres (600 miles) to reach their intended destination of the southern US border.
