Merkel: we can only understand each other if we speak German

Ahead of next month's federal election in Germany, German Chancellor and Christian Democratic Union Party (CDU) leader Angela Merkel held a campaign rally at Koblenz, Germany on Wednesday. In her speech to the attendees, Merkel touched upon the refugee crisis, saying, “We cannot stay uninvolved, we need to tackle the causes of migration on the ground, to make sure that people around the world... Еще have a decent live.” She also added that “when people come to us, it must be legal, not through smugglers.” Merkel is set to appear at 50 rallies across Germany ahead of the federal elections on September 24, where she hopes to win a fourth term as chancellor.
