Thousands of demonstrators gathered in Sliema, East Malta, on Sunday, to renew their calls for justice and governmental resignations following the killing of government-critical journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia. The demonstration was organized by the Civil Society Network. People marched from the Chalet area towards Amery Street, where the late journalist spent her childhood. Demonstrators... Еще, including social activists, bloggers and lawyers, held placards, waved Maltese flags and chanted slogans. Some sealed their mouths with red tape in order to show how they are forced to keep silence. People marched into the night, holding flashlights and placards demanding the resignation of the Police Commissioner and Attorney General and asking to reform the constitution. The protest culminated in speeches in which the murder was condemned as politically motivated. This is the second demonstration since Galizia, a blogger, journalist and anti-corruption activist, was killed on the 16th of October in a car bomb attack in Mosta, in Northern Malta. Her funeral will be held this Friday.
