Malaysia: Thousands join «Solidarity to save Jerusalem» rally in Putrajaya

Thousands of people joined the 'Solidarity to save Jerusalem' rally outside the Putra Mosque, in Putrajaya, Friday, demonstrating against US President Donald Trump's recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital. The protest comes after the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) voted overwhelmingly against the US's recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital. Malaysia joined the other 127 countries voting in favour of a draft measure that states Trump's decision as «null and void.» A total of nine countries voted against it and 35 countries abstained. Following the UN vote, US State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert confirmed that Trump «would take [the vote] into consideration in dealing with our foreign relations and countries who have chosen to vote one way or the other.»
