Journalists were invited to a preview of 'Tolkien, Maker of Middle Earth' at Bodleian Library in Oxford on Thursday, ahead of the exhibition's opening to the public tomorrow.
The exhibition is the first major collection of English author JRR Tolkien's work in over 25 years, and is expected to draw scores of Lord of the Rings fans from around the world.
Bodleian librarian Richard Ovenden was... Еще proud to familiarise new people with the creative work of a writer who spent most of his life in Oxford.
Ovenden said: «It is very special for us in Oxford, and in the university, to be able to present a major exhibition for the public about this extraordinary mind and this extraordinary literary imagination.»
The exhibition showcases numerous draft manuscripts, illustrations and maps by the world famous writer, as well as his early abstract paintings.
It will last from June 1 till October 28.
