Many government-run liquor shops which had opened after the coronavirus lockdown had to be shut down again in New Delhi on Monday as police struggled to uphold the physical distancing rule.
Groups of people who gathered outside the outlets did not follow social distancing norms forcing the police to use mild force in some cases to disperse the unruly crowd.
Ravi Jha, a liquor buyer explained... Еще the situation: «They have to seal the place properly and allow a limited number of people inside. But everyone is pushing inside and overcrowding here. If they all waited outside it would have been better, but all surrounded the shop,» he said.
The government has mandated four state-run agencies responsible for selling liquor to deploy adequate security at their shops in hopes that they will be able to stay open starting Tuesday.
