Footage captured on Thursday shows the east Libyan city of Derna in the aftermath of fighting that saw forces loyal to Khalifa Haftar, commander of the Libyan National Army (LNA), regain control of the city. With the city trying to come to terms with the aftermath of its year-long-siege, the residents have taken it upon themselves to re-build the destroyed infrastructure. Footage shows civilians... Еще sweeping the streets and fighters celebrating. Haftar's declaration of victory came after intense fighting, as the port city has been surrounded by his forces since May this year and has come under repeated aerial bombardment, in an effort to dislodge the Derna Protection Forces (DPF), formerly known as the Derna Mujahideen Shura Council (DMSC). Libya is split between the Tobruk-led government in the East, supported by the LNA, and the UN-recognised government in the West.
