Libya: Haftar forces seize ship with Turkish crew

Forces loyal to General Khalifa Haftar's Libyan National Army (LNA) said they seized a ship with a Turkish crew on Saturday, hours after the Turkish Parliament approved a security and military cooperation pact with Libya's Government of National Accord (GNA). Footage published on Saturday by the LNA shows a boat intercepting the vessel in the Libyan territorial waters off Derna and questioning... Еще three Turkish crew members. The Grenada-flagged ship has been reportedly led to Ras Al Hilal port for cargo inspection, the LNA said. Ruptly could not independently fully verify the exact location and name of the ship. On Saturday, Turkey's parliament voted 269-125 in favour of a security deal with the GNA, after the latter ratified it on Thursday. Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan previously said Turkey could send troops to Libya in support of the GNA, but no request has been made as of yet. Haftar's campaign to capture Tripoli from the UN-backed GNA was launched in early April and was met with resistance from local armed groups backing the UN-recognised government.
