At least three civilians were reportedly killed after heavy shelling by Libyan National Army (LNA) forces of General Khalifa Haftar hit Tripoli in Libya, on Friday.
Footage shows the aftermath of the attack in the Zenata district, south of the capital, with damaged buildings, rubble and bloodstains on the ground of a shelled house. Emergency services were also seen at the scene.
Earlier on... Еще Friday, UN-recognised Government of National Accord (GNA) forces confirmed the attack on social media.
The shelling comes days after Haftar declared «void» a 2015 UN-brokered deal that produced the Government of National Accord (GNA) in Tripoli, and announced the army was to rule the country «by decision of the Libyan people.»
Following the ousting of former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi in 2014, the country has been split into areas controlled by the GNA in Tripoli and the northwest, and territories held by eastern-based LNA in Benghazi led by Khalifa Haftar. Recently, the UN has appealed to both sides to stop fighting and allow humanitarian workers to deal with the coronavirus pandemic.
