Demonstrators were seen cleaning the streets of Beirut after anti-government protests, on Thursday morning.
Footage shows volunteer cleaners of all ages sorting trash and swiping floors.
«We come here day and night. In the daytime we come to do the cleaning. If we do not preserve our country and our environment, who will preserve it,» said one of the volunteers.
Another demonstrator who also... Еще volunteered for this clean-up operation shared that they are «anxious to keep the image of the revolution beautiful, there are those who distort the image of the revolution sometimes. It is normal for waste to spread on the floor, and for others to come to clean it.»
Lebanon was swept up in protests last week over economic stagnation and corruption. The trigger was a raft of new taxes designed to tackle the country's high public debt.
