Latvia: Japan PM stresses importance of pressuring North Korea

Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe stressed the importance of reinforcing pressure on North Korea during a visit to the Latvian capital of Riga on Saturday. Abe held a joint press-conference with his Latvian counterpart Maris Kucinskis following bilateral talks. He welcomed the ending of the Japan — EU EPA [Economic Partnership Agreement] talks which took place in December 2017 and underscored... Еще the joint intention of both prime ministers «to move towards the early signing and entry into force of the agreement so as to further promote trade and investment between our countries.» Both prime ministers agreed to give start the Japan-Baltic cooperation dialogue «as a comprehensive framework of dialogue» with the aim to encourage cooperation between Japan and the Baltic states. In a five-day tour across Europe, Abe is expected to visit Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Serbia and Romania.
