Kyrgyz voters flocked to the polls in Bishkek, Sunday, to cast their ballots in the country's presidential election. A total of 11 candidates are seeking to replace the incumbent president, Almazbek Atambayev, who is constitutionally barred from running for re-election for a second six-year term. A close race is predicted between two of the candidates, former Prime Minister Sooronbai Jeenbekov... Еще and businessman Omurbek Babanov. Polls close at 20.00 local time (14.00 GMT) with preliminary results to be announced a few hours later. The election will head to a run-off if nobody wins more than 50 percent of the vote.
