Korean DMZ: North-South Korea talks resume in Panmunjom

Representatives from North and South Korea held a meeting at the 'peace village' of Panmunjom in the Korean Demilitarised Zone (DMZ) on Friday, following a meeting in New York between US secretary of state Mike Pompeo and North Korean vice chairman Kim Yong Chol. On April 27, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and South Korean President Moon Jae-in signed a joint declaration agreeing to work towards the 'complete denuclearisation of the Korean Peninsula.' US-North Korea negotiations are ongoing even after US President Donald Trump called off the planned Pyongyang-Washington summit initially set to take place on June 12.
