Korean DMZ: North and South Korea agree to pursue 'complete denuclearisation'

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and South Korean President Moon Jae-in signed a joint declaration agreeing to work towards the 'complete denuclearisation of the Korean Peninsula' in the 'peace village' of Panmunjom in the Korean Demilitarised Zone (DMZ) on Friday. The pair also announced during a press conference that a peace treaty would replace the armistice pact which ended the Korean War of... Еще 1953. Relations have been fraught between Pyongyang and Seoul since the conflict. The Pyeongchang Winter Olympics seemingly encouraged a thaw in relations on the peninsula, after a year of heightened tensions over the North's nuclear and missile programs.
