Kenya: Unrest grows in Nairobi as exit polls predict win for President Kenyatta

Rising tensions saw tyre fires lit and protesters gather in the Nairobi slum of Kibera hours as exit polls in the Kenyan presidential elections placed the sitting President Uhuru Kenyatta in the lead. President Kenyatta, the son of Kenya's first president, is on track to secure a second, and final, five year term ahead of opposition leader Raila Odinga by some 10 percent of the votes. It is... Еще Odinga's third attempt to take the highest office, after failing in the 2007 and 2013 general elections. There are fears that this year's results could spark the same kind of unrest seen after the 2007 election, which left over 1,000 people dead and a further 600,000 displaced.
