Kenyan state security forces deployed tear gas to disperse protesters who were continuing to demand reforms to the country's electoral board following its decision to annul August’s presidential election, in Nairobi, on Monday. Demonstrators are demanding the sacking of officials of the election board due to August's cancelled presidential elections. Protests have also taken place in the cities of Kisumu and Mombasa in recent days. President Uhuru Kenyatta won August's presidential election before it was annulled due to «irregularities and illegalities.» Kenyans will return to the polls on 26 October, in an election that the opposition vows to boycott if election board officials are not replaced beforehand.
