Kenya: Bus set ablaze, tear gas billows as opposition clash with security forces

Kenyan security forces clashed with anti-government protesters in Nairobi on Friday. The protesters were attempting to reach the city's airport to welcome the returning opposition leader Raila Odinga. Police had reportedly previously warned that the protesters would be blocked from accessing the airport. Security forces attempted to control the crowds, using tear gas against protesters. In the... Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta won 98 percent of the vote with a turnout of just under 39 percent. He had already won elections on August 8, the results of which were subsequently annulled because of “irregularities.”
