President of Syria's Tomorrow Movement Ahmad Jarba lauded the upcoming Sochi peace talks on Syria, dubbed 'The Congress of National Dialogue', speaking from Astana, Wednesday. He noted that the upcoming talks could be of «great help for the Geneva conference and for the negotiations between the [Syrian] government and the opposition, aimed at reaching a political settlement.» According to the Syrian opposition leader, among topics on the agenda are the «sensitive» issue of refugees and the issue of forcibly detained persons, which he said «remains a very poignant humanitarian problem that is relevant to all Syrians.» On Tuesday, the Russian foreign ministry announced that Russia will host «The Congress of National Dialogue' on November 18, formerly referred to as 'The Congress of the Peoples of Syria.' According to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, the congress is aimed to expand the scope of participants in the Syrian peace process. Among the invitees are reportedly three Kurdish organisations, including the Democratic Union Party (PYD), the Kurdish National Council (KNC) and the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Syria (KDPS).
