Kazakhstan: Military parade celebrates 'Defender of the Fatherland' day

A military parade in commemoration of the 'Defender of the Fatherland' day took place in Kazakhstan’s Jambyl Region on Monday. The parade, attended by more than 10,000 people, was hosted by Supreme Commander-in-Chief and President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev. Some three thousand troops, 300 weapon units and military equipment and up to 40 aircraft took part. Nazarbayev’s speech was... Еще followed by a military march and military exercises. The Kazakh army showed off skills to damage targets with various types of weapons including artillery, drones, fighter jets, tanks and armoured personnel carriers. The 'Defender of the Fatherland' day commemorates the founding of the Kazakh Armed Forces, established by a decree signed by Nazarbayev on May 7, 1992.
