Roscosmos cosmonaut Oleg Kononenko's teenage daughter Alisa said that she «will hope for the best» during an interview in Baikonur on Saturday, ahead of her father’s December 3 mission to the International Space Station.
She went on to say... Еще that the she is not afraid after the recent Soyuz MS-10 incident since «it is in the past.»
Kononenko also mentioned that she met with her father and he explained to her about what he was going to do aboard the International Space Station.
Oleg promised his daughter that «everything will be fine,» though «he is worried» about his family.
Experts are checking that all the systems are functioning normally ahead of the launch from the first platform, also known as ‘Gagarin’s Start’, which is scheduled for December 3.
The Expedition 58/59 crew consists of Kononenko, NASA astronaut Ann McClain and Canadian Space Agency (CSA) astronaut David Saint-Jacques.
Missions to the ISS are set to resume after a booster on the Soyuz MS-10 failed on October 11. It is believed a faulty sensor was behind the issue.
