Germany and Jordan agreed that the two-state solution is the only way to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Jordan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi said on Sunday, while speaking at a press conference alongside his German counterpart Heiko Maas in Amman.
«The political conflict and the political solution are not resolved outside the framework of a political solution that ends the... Еще occupation and achieves a two-state solution for an independent Palestinian state on the Palestinian national soil in peace and security, alongside Israel, according to the international legitimacy resolutions and in accordance with the peace initiative,» he stated.
For his part, Maas praised Jordan's constructive approach on the regional issues and the protection guaranteed to around 1.5 million Syrian refugees.
The comments came as the two top diplomats held talks over the situation in the Middle East region during Maas' trip to Jordan as part of a longer Middle East tour which already took him to Iraq on Saturday.
The German minister is set to travel to Tehran on Monday, where he will hold talks with Iranian officials on the implementation of the 2015 nuclear agreement that was dropped by the United States.
