Japanese men go head to head at BALD championships

Dozens of bald men competed in Japan's national bald championship in Tsurata, Aomori Prefecture, on Saturday. Members of the Bald Head Club took it in turns to battle it out with a unique game of tug-of-war, where each participant must stick a suction cup onto their scalp before attempting to pull their opponent's off via the taught rope that connects them. The club was founded in 1989 and... Еще is made up of roughly 65 members who come from across Japan. According to the club’s website, their chief aim is to “view baldness in a positive manner, to have fun, and to brighten the world with our shiny heads.” Winner of the day Akio Narita explained that the club offers more than just a laugh. «When I was young, my hair already started falling and I became bald. I had been feeling it as a big inferiority complex. After I met this group, I could be more confident in myself», he said. The prize draw was for a total sum of ¥50,000 (€6391; $7536).
