A 405-kilogram Bluefin tuna fetched an astonishing 36.5 million yen (€ 268,839 / $ 323,897) in the Tsukiji fish market's auction in Tokyo on Friday as the spices are prone to extinction. The victorious buyer turned out to be the president of sushi restaurant chain Sushi-Zanmai Kiyoshi Kimura who for yet another consecutive year outbid his competitors. In 2013 Kimura reportedly paid 155.4... Еще million yen (€ 1,114,420; $ 1,378,840) for a Bluefin which remains the highest bid the market ever recorded. Kimura, who is often referred to as a «tuna king», believes the bid will do well for the restaurant. However, the publicity surrounding the auction seems to outmatch the concerns over heavily overfished stocks of tuna in the Pacific that led the Japan government to enforce laws prohibiting over-quota catches with violators sentenced to jail terms.
