Peace activists staged a rally in front of Japan's Ministry of Defence in Tokyo on Saturday, to protest against Prime Minister Abe's on decision to deploy a warship the Gulf of Oman. The governments said it's planning to send the vessel to protect its interests and cargo ships in the region.

«It is wrong from the legal and constitutional point of view, or from the Japanese law point of view, to send the SDF in a way that is linked to U.S. military operations. We planned this today that citizens in Japan should make their voices heard,» said anti-war protester Koji Sugihara.
In December, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe announced that Japan opted out from a US naval mission to the Gulf region.
