Japan: Hundreds protest against world’s oldest monarchy

Hundreds of people marched through the streets of Tokyo on Sunday protesting the world’s oldest hereditary monarchy. Police in full riot gear lined the streets, surrounding the few counter protesters who tried to approach those marching with placard and banners. At 83, Emperor Akihito is Japan’s 125th emperor in a line stretching back 2,600 years. But after battling prostate cancer and...
