Japan: Anti-nuclear protesters mobilise against reopening of Kashiwazaki-Kariwa power plant

Anti-nuclear protesters gathered outside Japan’s parliamentary building in Tokyo on Saturday, to demonstrate against the reopening of the Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Nuclear Power Plant. Japan’s Nuclear Regulation Authority recently published a report stating that the Kashiwazaki-Kariwa plant met new safety standards and could be reopened. The protesters were joined by former Prime Minister Naoto Kan... Еще, whose government shut down many nuclear reactors after the Fukushima disaster in 2011. The current administration has vowed to resume nuclear power generation in Japan.
