Japan: Abe and Emperor Akihito mark 72nd anniversary of Nagasaki atomic bomb

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Emperor of Japan Akihito took part in the wreath-laying ceremony at at the Nagasaki Memorial Complex, in Nagasaki Peace Park, on Wednesday, to commemorate those that died in the US' 1945 atomic bombing of the city on the event's 72st anniversary. The 1945 bombing of Hiroshima marked the first ever use of nuclear weapons during warfare and spelled the final... Еще days of World War II. It is estimated that the bombing on August 6 and its subsequent fallout cost over 140,000 lives, while additional atomic raids on Nagasaki are thought to have killed a further 70,000 people.
